digging and mining

Instead of leveling I decided to spend some time today doing other things.  The first thing I decided to go do was dig around Belos to see if I could get anything.
I wound up getting an Agasura Blouse, Iron pants, and an upgraded Chitao.  I wound up giving the Iron pants to RedJester since I can't use male clothes.  I kept the other two pieces.  I would have kept digging but I started seeing a lot of other people doing the same thing on all the channels and figured I might as well stop and go do something else.

I decided that it was time to start leveling my crafting skill (which is accessory making).  To do that, I would need to go down into the mines for a bit.
I was down here for a bit trying to get some normal mineral.  This would be so much quicker if I had mining two. D:  Luckily a friend showed up to at least keep me company.

I wound up getting my acc making to just under level three.  I made earings and rings for both red jester and I and then sold all the extras back to NPCs in Elias.  So far I like the acc making since sometimes it popps out acces that up the rare item drop rates.

Next time I'm on I should probably go level a bit.  Staying at 20 isn't a good thing.

Level 20!

My first level of the day was pretty quick thanks to the extra exp boost you get for first logging in.  For the hour it was on I just ran around in the temple of pluton killing yellow lable monsters (as soon as they would begin to turn green I would move on to monsters that were yellow again).  It seemed to be an ok strategy since I gained two levels in that hour period.

I was running around questing in the Pluton temple when I met this guy.   We sat for a couple minutes and talked about quests.  He seems to be a newer player too.  We decided to go talk to Fable and do the monster arena quests together so that he could level a bit.  He also buddied me on this character and his level 16 mage.

The monster arena seemed to be a good place to level because my last several levels were all gained there.  I wound up turning in the first two beginner quests several times so that boosted my exp quite a bit.  I believe redjester also gained a couple of levels.  I'm really glad that I have someone to party with now as that will make doing spooky at level 30 a lot less hard.  I wasn't looking forward to trying to find a party.
This was my last level of the day.  I hit level 20!  I don't know if hitting 20 in two days is fast or slow in latale but it felt pretty quick to me.  The monster arena quests helped a lot but the pot burn in that place is extreme.  I'm about out of hp pots.  Also, unlike a lot of other quests, you don't really make that much ely so doing the monster arena will deplete my bank over time.  I think next time I'll go back to regular questing for a bit to build up some more money.

I thought I should also mention that, in the arena, I can usually get up to the french fry monster and cannons.  Those fries are lethal though and usually winding up killing me and the rest of the party.  Death by french fry?

Creation

This blog was started so I could chronicle the advancement of a character I have started in LaTale (an mmorpg from OG planet).  It is kind of the story from nooblet onward.  This post not only marks the creation of this blog but also the creation of Wrenton.  Wrenton is a brand new warrior class character in LaTale.  That is really all the "backstory" anyone should need.

This is Wrenton.  I decided to make her a warrior because I would like to have a dual blader.  Also, I thought that a warrior might be the most user friendly class to start out with.  In most games the warriors are usually the easient to play so why not start there while I'm learning the game?

The first thing I needed to do was remap all my keys.  I really didn't like the initial key setup and I found it far more comfortable to move the keys to the positions mapped above.  It made it far easier to jump and run at the same time.  Also, I had keys mapped this way in another game I used to play online so the setup was more familiar to me.

Next I ran through the tutorial which didn't really seem to serve too much of a purpose.  The tutorial doesn't give you any exp except the small bit you get from whacking on dummies.  As you can see above, it isn't worth it.  I figured I'd have a better chance of leveling outside of the dummy den so I booked it out of tutorial land.

First level up!  It was far quicker to run around outside and hit the small creatures than to have stayed with the dummies.  The knuckle weapon I was using also seemed really quick so I'm sure that helped.  Who doesn't love punching creatures in the face anyway?  Also, I find it REALLY satisfying to punch creatures off of ledges.  Good times.

BOOM, lvl 10 that quick!  It was just prier to this level that I started using a sword instead of the knuckles.  I figured I best get used to them now since the blader character I want to make uses a kind of sword.  I'm not really too scared about using skill points in sword skills due to the fact that you can buy skill reset books for 100k.  It makes being noob in the game a little less hard as you can correct whatever mistakes you are bound to make while learning the game.  Also, as you can see, 100k isn't that much.  At level 10 I already had around 75k.  I know part of this is due to the fact that I didn't buy amour or weapons (the armour I found always had better stats) and I was doing just fine.  At level ten I also choose my crafting skill.I choose to make accesories (like rings and earings).  I haven't played around with the skill too much yet as I've been more concerned with leveling and questing.

This was the last level up of the day.  I didn't think it was too bad to get to level 12 in one sitting.  I only played for an hour or two so it seems ok to me.  I also went ahead and bought some armour in hopes that I would take a little less damage.  I'm be heading to the Pluton temple soon thanks to quests so I thought I'd probably need the extra defence.  Let's hope it helps!
