This is Wrenton. I decided to make her a warrior because I would like to have a dual blader. Also, I thought that a warrior might be the most user friendly class to start out with. In most games the warriors are usually the easient to play so why not start there while I'm learning the game?
The first thing I needed to do was remap all my keys. I really didn't like the initial key setup and I found it far more comfortable to move the keys to the positions mapped above. It made it far easier to jump and run at the same time. Also, I had keys mapped this way in another game I used to play online so the setup was more familiar to me.
Next I ran through the tutorial which didn't really seem to serve too much of a purpose. The tutorial doesn't give you any exp except the small bit you get from whacking on dummies. As you can see above, it isn't worth it. I figured I'd have a better chance of leveling outside of the dummy den so I booked it out of tutorial land.
First level up! It was far quicker to run around outside and hit the small creatures than to have stayed with the dummies. The knuckle weapon I was using also seemed really quick so I'm sure that helped. Who doesn't love punching creatures in the face anyway? Also, I find it REALLY satisfying to punch creatures off of ledges. Good times.
BOOM, lvl 10 that quick! It was just prier to this level that I started using a sword instead of the knuckles. I figured I best get used to them now since the blader character I want to make uses a kind of sword. I'm not really too scared about using skill points in sword skills due to the fact that you can buy skill reset books for 100k. It makes being noob in the game a little less hard as you can correct whatever mistakes you are bound to make while learning the game. Also, as you can see, 100k isn't that much. At level 10 I already had around 75k. I know part of this is due to the fact that I didn't buy amour or weapons (the armour I found always had better stats) and I was doing just fine. At level ten I also choose my crafting skill.I choose to make accesories (like rings and earings). I haven't played around with the skill too much yet as I've been more concerned with leveling and questing.
This was the last level up of the day. I didn't think it was too bad to get to level 12 in one sitting. I only played for an hour or two so it seems ok to me. I also went ahead and bought some armour in hopes that I would take a little less damage. I'm be heading to the Pluton temple soon thanks to quests so I thought I'd probably need the extra defence. Let's hope it helps!
